Fishes

According to the research, this area has a low proportion of the native species. This is because the research area was within small mountain torrents and is not suitable for understanding the overall ecological characteristics of the Han-gang and Imjin-gang river systems.

In the upper streams of Seohwacheon and the Inbukcheon, the branches of the Bukhan-gang in Inju-gun, 9 species were discovered in total. The Kumgang fatminnow, slender catfish, Manchurian trout and bullhead, which only lives in waters of high quality and clean environment, were seen. It is presumed that it has the typical fisheries of well-preserved mountain torrents. The nearby CCLF (Commander, Combined Landing Force) area in the Suipcheon upstreams in Yanggu-gun also is said to have a similary fishery, and the valleys here are worth protecting.
