Fishes

In the rivers that flow into the East Sea, it is typical that they have scanty fishes and less distribution of the native species.
The each river that flow into the East Sea has short length compared with the rivers that flow into the West Sea or the South Sea, and the middle reaches are not well developed. The lower reaches flow into the sea with the characteristics of the middle reaches. This is the reason for the meagerness of fish species here and the small proportion of native fish.
The Petromyzonidae was originally known to be living in the rivers flowing into the West Sea and the South Sea, but recently was found that it also exists in the lower streams of the Baebongcheon.
The Kumkang fatminnow appeared by the hundreds at the Gojindong Valley, a branch of Goseongnamgang in Sacheon-ri.
